Hearty Soup Mix & Harvest Soup Mix
Combine 8 cups water, 1½ cups mix and 1½ tsp. salt. Simmer for 1 hour. Add 2 carrots (chopped), 2 stalks celery (chopped), 2 cups shredded cabbage, 1 qt. tomatoes, and 1 lb. cooked meat. (ground beef, cubed beef, etc.) Simmer 20 minutes for Hearty; simmer 60 minutes for Harvest.
  Holiday Soup Mix
Wash 1 lb. beans, place in a large kettle, cover with water 2" above bean line. Add 2 tbsp. salt, soak overnight. Drain. Add 2 qts. water, 2 ham hocks or a piece of ham. Bring to a boil, add 1 onion, 1-16 oz. can tomatoes, 1 tsp. chili powder, lemon juice and pepper to taste. Simmer 3 hours or in a crockpot on high for 3 hours or low for 5 hours. Yield 4 quarts.
Chicken, Beef or Vegetable Boullion Cubes
To make a hearty stock or broth add 1 cube per cup of water.
  Mushroom Gravy Mix
Dissolve 2 T. mix in 8 oz. water. Cook over medium heat until thickened and smooth.
Uses for Chicken Broth Powder:
Chicken Broth: 1 tsp. broth powder to 1 cup boiling water.
Breading Chicken or Pork Chops or Fish: Add 1 tsp. chicken broth powder to breading mixture (omit salt)
Chicken Dip: 1 pint sour cream, ¼ cup green onions (chopped fine)
2 tsp. chicken broth powder, ½ lb. deli roast chicken (chopped fine)
  Uses for Beef Broth Powder:
Beef Dip: 1 pint sour cream, ¼ cup green onion (chopped fine) 2 tsp. beef broth powder, ½ lb. deli roast beef (chopped fine) Mix well and serve.
Meatless Gravy: Mix 1 tsp. flour to 1 cup cold water. Add 1 tsp. beef broth powder and 1 tsp. sugar. Bring to a boil. Stir until smooth.
Beef Broth: 1 tsp. broth powder to 1 cup boiling water.
Brown Gravy Mix
Using a wire whip, blend approx. 1/3 cup (2½ oz. by wt.) into 2 cups of hot tap water. Heat to boil, stirring constantly until thick. Reduce heat and serve. Yields approx. 2 cups.
  Boyd's Cheese Sauce Mix
Boil 2 cups of water, turn off heat. Slowly add approx. 3/4 cup (4 oz. by wt.) while stirring with a wire whip. Place on double boiler with cover and let stand 10 minutes, stir again and serve.
Boyd's Ham Base
2 tbsp. base to 4 cups water.
  Sloppy Joe Seasoning Mix
Brown 1 ½ lbs. ground beef. Drain fat. Stir in 1/4 cup mix, 1 can (6 oz.) salt free tomato paste and 1½ cups water. Bring to a boil and simmer 10-15 minutes. Yield 4-6 servings.
Chili Seasoning Mix
Brown 1 ½ lbs. ground beef. Drain fat. Stir in 2 ½ T. mix, 1 can (28 oz.) crushed tomatoes and 1 can (15 oz) drained kidney beans. Bring to a boil and simmer 10 minutes. Yield 3 ½ - 4 cups.
  Buttermilk Herb Dip & Dressing Mix
Dressing:
1/3 cup mix, ½ cup milk, 1 cup mayonnaise. Mix with fork until smooth.
Dip: 1/3 cup mix, ½ cup mayonnaise, 8 oz. dairy sour cream. Mix with fork until smooth.
Dill Cream Dip & Dressing Mix
Dressing: 2 tbsp. mix, ¼ cup milk or cream, 8 oz. dairy sour cream.
Mix with fork until smooth.
Dip: 2 tsp. mix, 8 oz. dairy sour cream
  Cole Slaw Dressing Mix
Combine 3 T. Mix, 2 T. vinegar, 2 T. sugar (optional), 1 cup mayonnaise.
Pour over 8 cups shredded cabbage. Toss and serve.
